We hear often about the disadvantages of female leaders. In fact, CGN recently brought you an article about negative female stereotypes that’s downright scary. But here’s the opposite question – what advantages do women have in the workplace? Well, given that we’re now a majority of the workforce and majority of MBA students, there are advantages that are clear in experience and education. But are some of those same stereotypes mentioned in the post above in fact some pretty significant advantages?
Sit at the Table contends that a woman’s emotional capacity and their potential desire for work/life balance are not disadvantages, but rather advantages that women leaders can and must learn to maximize to bring their careers forward.
