7 Perfect Pencil Skirts

Every Career Girl needs a perfect pencil skirt in her wardrobe. It’s the perfect piece for the office and can be dressed up or down depending on your style.

Finding the perfect pencil skirt can be a challenge so here are 4 tips to help you find the one for you:

  1. Make sure it fits your body. A pencil skirt should skim the body and have a straight, narrow cut.  Make sure that it’s not too tight and won’t ride up as you walk, or restrict you from walking.
  2. Watch the length. The perfect length falls to the knee or right above it. Anything too high or too long will ruin the shape of the skirt.
  3. Check the slit in the back. Make sure you cut open the back slit of the skirt after your purchase. Many come sewn together to help maintain the structure and shape while in the store. Watch the length of the slit, you may end up showing much more than you would like if your slit is too high.
  4. Pick a pencil skirt that fits your style and you will wear again. You can’t go wrong with the classic black or grey but if you know thats not your style, pick a pencil skirt with different fabrics and patterns like floral, tweed, brights or prints.

Check out Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, the LOFT, Zara and J Crew for a great selection of pencil skirts.
