Deja Vu: 3 Tips on How to Wear the Same Thing Again

If you’ve ever found that perfect dress, skirt, blouse, etc. that you “had to have” so you invested your bonus/raise/savings into it, only to wear it a couple times per year, this post is for you.

Sometimes I’ll purchase an exquisite dress and automatically categorize it into my weekend or after work wardrobe. I’ve found by recreating the outfit and looking at it in a different way I can get more wear out of it.  It may be easier to get more wear out of a basic item like  a cardigan or blazer but how about that unique dress you just purchased online?

Here are 3 tips on how to wear the same thing again:

  1. Style it differently-if you usually wear “that dress” with a cardigan try wearing it with a vest or a denim shirt. Sometimes a feminine sophisticated item can be turned into casual chic with a couple of accessories.
  2. Space it out-if you are going to wear the same unique item again, try waiting a week or two before recycling it back into the wardrobe.
  3. Co-mingle your weekend & work wardrobe-now there are some items that shouldn’t be incorporated into your work wardrobe (that short body hugging Little Black Dress) but don’t be afraid to mix that weekend day dress into the work mix.

What’s that one item you just can’t seem to get enough of? How do you wear it differently?
