Do This ONE THING Today to Prepare for 2013!

one thing

In the past few days, we’ve talked about how to be productive in a terribly unproductive week, and staying focused on what is probably a HUGE end of year to-do list. No matter how productive you’ve been this week, though, you’re probably still somewhat overwhelmed. So in this short time before the end of the year, I’m going to make your to-do list easier. To set yourself up for a great career climb in 2013, I’m only going to ask you to do ONE THING before January 1st.

Are you ready? Here it is: Send ONE thank you note. Just one. Why, you might ask? Because the best thing you can do to cultivate any relationship is to say thank you. Maybe you want to thank your boss for supporting you through a hard project, or maybe you want to thank your mentor for all the great suggestions she gave this year. Thank your boyfriend or friend for all their “cry on your shoulder” support, or your Mom for always giving you $20 when she sees you. Thank someone, in writing, with a handwritten note.

That’s it. Send one thank you and sigh a big breath of relief to start 2013.
