Easy Ways to Become a Better Writer

I laughed out loud when I first saw this tiny infographic, but once I thought about it, I realized it’s the absolute best writing advice you’ll ever receive. If you want to be a great writer, follow these steps:


In addition, consider adding these steps to your process:

  • Publish! You’re never going to become a great writer if no one is reading your work.
  • Ask for feedback. Even if it’s just asking your mother or your spouse to read what you’re writing, take the time to take their feedback into consideration. If you’re nervous about having a close friend or family member read your work, there are great Meetup groups and writer’s reading groups in every city where you can test your skills with strangers.
  • Revise! Even if you published a blog post a year ago, go back and look at it again. Sometimes when you’re distanced by time from a piece you’ve written, it’s easier to make revisions.
