Last night, I attended a panel discussion on work/life integration. The organization running the seminar chose the word integration purposefully. Rather than asking ourselves how we balance our personal lives with our work lives, it’s possibly better to ask how we integrate the pieces of our lives to create a more cohesive life.
Among the phenomenal insights I received last night, one stuck out loud and clear, “Move out of the way and let your passion manifest.” How often do we stand in our own way? How often do we tell ourselves we know the right path and fight to find that path, only for it to constantly disappear. Could it be that we’re standing in our own way? Could it be that if we move out of the way, move our preconceived notions of “shoulds” and “musts” out of the way, then we can focus solely on the passions that truly drive us?
What are you passionate about? Truly. And how can you follow those passions to achieve success? Maybe it’s as simple as stepping out of your own way.
