Homework: Your Email Signature

Posted July 28, 2013 by Career Girl Network in Features

Sure, it’s been a while since you’ve been in school. But here at Career Girl Network, every Sunday night, we’re bringing you “Homework” – a simple task that will take less than 10 minutes (most less than 5) and still have a significant impact on your career.

Here’s your homework for tonight!

Sending an email without a signature is something that should only be done by high school students and the elderly. If you are a working professional, you must have an email signature, even in your personal email. You have no idea how many emails I get professionally asking for the opportunity to write for or collaborate with Career Girl Network signed something like “Jen.” Jen who? What does Jen do? Does Jen have a phone number or an email address or a Twitter account?

Here’s our easy format for an email signature:

First Name Last Name
Job Title, Company
Office: 555.555.5555
Mobile: 555.555.5555
Email: name@company.com

LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/in/name
Twitter: @Name
Web: www.careergirlnetwork.com
