Don’t lie. We all have them. Underwear that should really go in the garbage, bras that don’t do anything for our figure but they’re so darn comfortable you just can’t get rid of them, and that one pair of tights with the hole in them you can only wear if your skirt is longer than the hole. It’s a complete break from logic, but most women (even those who spend tens of thousands on their wardrobes) are dirt cheap when it comes to buying undergarments.
I beg you. I implore you. I plead with you. BUY NEW UNDERGARMENTS! Because no matter how good your wardrobe might be, your career cannot survive one more day of visible panty lines, rolling down socks and tights, and bras that leave you looking like you have anything other than two very well placed breasts.
To appropriately arm you to add to your wardrobe of undergarments, I’ve compiled a few of the best resources for “which to wear with what” to help you choose the appropriate undergarments. Click on the images below to access the articles/resources listed.
Giuliana Rancic’s amazing newsletter FabFitFun recently brought us “The Right Bra for Every Look.” I don’t know about you, but I’m personally hustling out to buy the t-back bra right now! Amazing tips for hard to wear outfits and hard to find bra styles.
The biggest culprit in the undergarment battle is the bad bra fit. Seriously, ladies! Your bras don’t fit. I promise you. Unless you’ve had a professional fitting, chances are you’re wearing the wrong bra. So take your behind to Nordstrom and ask for a fitting. It’s free. Until then, visit their website now with a special “Bra Fit Guide” section for your reading and viewing pleasure.
If you’re looking for the best smoothing products, here’s a great list from Oprah.com. “Figure-Enhancing and Smoothing Underwear.”
And last, but certainly not least, when in doubt, visit Spanx.com. You’ll never go wrong with a Sara Blakely created product. She is, recall, the youngest female self-made billionaire in the world! Spanx even has a great “Starter Kit” for those who maybe haven’t tried their products before. Definitely worth ordering to begin your wardrobe of undergarments.
