I believe you should always dress to impress, even on casual Fridays. In a recent post, I stated how I enjoy wearing dresses to work and my usual workwear consists of skirts and dresses. Now on the rare occasion that I do wear jeans, I will still add heels or bold jewelry to my “casual” Friday look. Unfortunately, some employees mistake casual Fridays for lazy Sundays and show up to work in t-shirts and yoga pants (yes, it happens).  This may be acceptable in some work environments, but it’s usually not acceptable in most corporate environments.

I believe you should dress for the career you want. I’ve noticed the higher-ranking women at my workplace dress to the nines. They can be seen in tailored suits and dresses Monday through Friday. There are some that I’ve never seen where jeans. I think it’s important to take notice of the women in the position you would like to be in and base your style off of their attire. I don’t believe you should copy their style, but use their style as a base.

Your casual Friday look may vary depending on your work environment and your company dress code, but no matter what you choose to wear on casual Fridays, make sure you look fresh and put together.
