Jumpstart Your Summer Success with a Challenge
We all love a challenge. Whether we’re challenging ourselves to eat better, exercise more, make more money or just show up at work on time for once, setting goals and knocking them down is fun no matter who you are. The problem with goal setting, though, is often we fall short and give up. And the problem with challenging ourselves is there’s usually no one there to help us through. It’s like a tree falling in the forest. If no one is there to see you, did you really eat that bag of Cheetos?
How do we succeed in challenging ourselves? By creating accountability, most effectively within a group of individuals who are seeking that same accountability. Well it just so happens that two amazing groups are issuing challenges and providing just the accountability you might need to meet your goals to cap off summer of 2012.
The first is already moving and grooving. It’s the 30-Day Challenge from Stacy Shanks from yogaandlife.com.
But don’t worry about the fact that they’re already started. The challenge is 30 days, but the window for the challenge is longer to account for your schedule with a start date. The official challenge window is July 9-August 31st. Stacy tells us that At 211 degrees, water is hot. At 212 degrees, it boils. And with boiling water; comes steam. And steam can power a locomotive. She’s encouraging you to ask yourself what would give you that one more degree in your life that will turn you into a steam powered locomotive!? Powerful stuff, right?
The second challenge you MUST do is from an incredible company, Tiara: Exceptional Women’s Coaching.
It’s called “15 Days to WOW!” My own business coach is a partner in Tiara and I’ve already participated in one of their 15 day challenges this summer. Their June challenge was so incredibly popular and successful, they’re doing it again in August. The focus of this Tiara 15 Days to WOW! is to help us all get more enjoyment out of our lives and out of our summers. You’ll set a “WOWZA” – the thing you want to see changed or accomplished during these 15 days, and with it, you’ll set a 15 minute per day intention. It’s amazing what 15 days and 15 minutes can do.
Tiara, like Stacey’s challenge, has an incredible Facebook page. The unique Tiara thing, though, is a weekly 30 minute check in phone call to learn how others are doing and get help from Tiara Coaches who will guide you through the WOW! process. It’s an amazing program. You owe it to yourself – and to your summer – to give the challenge a shot.
Take on the challenge – whether you do a 30 day challenge, a 15 day challenge, or like me, some combination of both, you’ll learn quickly that a few minutes a day, a few days a year, can change your perspective on incredible concepts in your life. Do it! Take the challenge.
