Posted November 27, 2012 by Marcy Twete in Leaders We Adore

Here at Career Girl Network, we love profiling exciting and powerful women, because we want to give all of you Career Girls out there amazing women to look up to and aspire to emulate. Marianne Lake is no exception to this group. She’s smart, she’s powerful, she’s incredibly business savvy, and she’s just been promoted to the biggest job of her career – she’s the new CFO at JPMorgan Chase.

Here’s a few things you should know about the banking behemoth’s new finance head:

  • She has a STEM background! We love seeing women with science and technology backgrounds rise through the ranks of business. Marianne was a physics major!
  • They’re hiring from within! She’s already proven herself as the CFO of the JPMorgan consumer and community banking unit. These are the kinds of C-level individuals we’ll continue to see in the next few years. Rising from within is often a great way for women to succeed.
  • She’s 43! That’s pretty darn young for a C-suiter in a business as big as this one. Younger women are getting ahead these days, and we love it!

We’ll be watching for more great news and new initiatives from Marianne’s team! Congrats to another C-level woman in the banking world!
