All women have them – the “go to shoe” – the shoe you wear 3-4 times a week, because damnit, it just goes with everything. I have a number of those shoes. Go to boots, go to flats, go to sneakers, and of course, the three season versatile go to open toed sling backs….but wait!
Last fall, I realized by flat black open toed sling backs (the ones I wore with EVERYTHING – suits, skirts, jeans, etc.) had seen their last days. It was time. So I let them go, figuring hell, they’re flat black open toed sling backs, how hard can they possibly be to find? (never start a sentence with “how hard could it possibly be” – it will end in disaster).
So after a number of weeks trying to find my holy grail of shoes (my old ones were Banana Republic circa 2007), I gave up on the “flat” notion and just began searching for comfortable. And I was floored to find a beautiful pair of “go to” every day work shoes that fit the bill at Macy’s for under $50.
