It’s no secret that Career Girl Network loves Sheryl Sandberg. We’ve recommended her famed TED Talk, taken her “killer career advice,” and applauded her openness about leaving the office at 5:30pm. Of course, then, the entire Career Girl Network is phenomenally excited to see Sheryl break through another glass ceiling in her career, being named the first female member of the Facebook Board of Directors.
Like Apple, Facebook and other Palo Alto based tech companies have received criticism for their lack of female Board members. It’s exciting to see Facebook set a good example and add such an incredibly accomplished woman to their Board. Sheryl is no stranger to Board service, already serving on the boards of The Walt Disney Company, Women for Women International, the Center for Global Development and V-Day.
We tip our hats to you Sheryl, and look forward to more women joining this exclusive boys club – one small step for Sandberg, one giant leap for womankind!
