Sure, it’s been a while since you’ve been in school. But here at Career Girl Network, every Sunday night, we’re bringing you “Homework” – a simple task that will take less than 10 minutes (most less than 5) and still have a significant impact on your career.

Here’s your homework for tonight!

Delete 5 things. That might sound simple or crazy or strange to you, but here’s the bottom line. You have too much stuff crowding your computer. And what does that mean? It’s crowding your mind, too. So do a little cleanup tonight. Here are some ideas:

  • Those emails you’ve been meaning to read but probably will never get to. Delete a few!
  • How many things are really on your computer’s desktop you don’t need? PDFs of your airline boarding passes, Ticketmaster print outs from months ago? Get rid of them!
  • Bookmarks! Did you bookmark a recipe that turned out to be a bust? Get rid of it! Or perhaps you have bookmarks from old work projects you’ll never need again. Get them gone!

These are just a few of the digital files you should perhaps delete tonight. So go ahead, just set a goal of 5, and maybe you’ll find more!
